Louise Wiles, 81, of Midland, passed away joining her Heavenly Father Thursday, November 30, 2017. Rosary will be held Monday, December 4, 2017 at 10:30 am followed by the Mass, 11:00 am at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Midland.Louise was born in Karnes County, Texas to Louie and Theresa Bujnoch on September 3, 1936. She spent her early years in Deweesville later moving to Karnes City where her parents owned and operated Louie’s Cafe. Louise and her siblings joined their parents in helping make Louie’s a well known establishment. It was in the cafe that Louise met her future husband, Leo Wiles. They were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in San Antonio, Texas on November 16, 1954. They worked throughout Texas before settling in Midland. This loving and devoted couple was married 54 years having 3 children, Terry, Phyllis, and Bruce.Louise was a devoted Catholic, who loved to share her faith with everyone she met. She was involved in Saturday Rosary, St. Vincent DePaul, Marriage Encounter, and St. Ann’s Family Fair. When St. Stephen’s was established, she and her family became active members. She was one of the founders of Helping Hands of Midland which started with a small group operating out of a home, to the facility it is today. She was involved in the ProLife group and spent most Fridays praying at the abortion clinic in Midland which saved the lives of many unborn children. After many years working at Bujnoch's Cafe with her brothers, she retired and returned to her passion of volunteering. She became a part of the Midland Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she volunteered for many years working in the gift shop, front desk, or wherever she was needed. She was elected to the board where she held many offices, including President this past year. She accumulated 5500 hours of service in the 10 years she had been a member. One of her favorite things to do was to deliver flowers and mail to patients. In her own words, “It is so nice to see people get flowers and mail, as it makes their day better. I do this because I like to stay busy and I just love to help people. In the hospital it is so very important to quickly take people to their correct destination, the first time. You never know their situation, but helping them is a big part of the journey in health care. I just love it,” she said. “You know the auxiliary is the first impression guests get of our hospital. I want it to be the best.”Daily mass, her family and the hospital were her life. She will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know her.Louise was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Leo Wiles; son, Bruce Wiles; brother, Louis Bujnoch, Jr.; sister, Helen Fluitt and sister-in-law Sammie Bujnoch.
