Louise McCrary Hamilton, 85, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, November 15, 2003, in an Odessa care facility.She was born in Murfreesboro, Tennesee on September 14, 1918, to James Frank and May Becton McCrary.Louise moved to Big Spring with her family in 1925. She attended Big Spring schools, graduating from Big Spring High School in 1936. She married Carlson Hamilton in 1938. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1963.She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1978 as Chief Operator of the Big Spring office.Louise was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, a member of the Eastern Star, the Social Order of Beauceant's and was a past advisor of the Rainbow Girls. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Louise was an avid bridge player, gardener and loved to travel.Survivors include two sisters, Nell R. McCrary of Big Spring and Elizabeth Gast of Galveston; a brother, Bill McCrary and wife, Florence, of Peoria, Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Zula McCrary of Big Spring, and Helen McCrary of Boerne; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, J. O. McCrary, Elvis McCrary and Grady McCrary and a sister, Mary Carroll all of Big Spring.Her body is being donated to the Texas Tech University School of Medicine.
