Louise Elizabeth Sneed, 93, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, November 30, 2004, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Joel Miller, pastor of North Birdwell Lane United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.Louise Elizabeth Kirkland was born on February 25, 1911, at home in Coppell, Dallas County, to John Marion Kirkland and Edna Jeanette (Jennie) Stringfellow Kirkland, pioneer residents. She was baptized at the United Methodist Church across the street on land donated by her uncle, George Washington Stringfellow. Her father, John, was a son of a veteran of the War of 1812. Louise was the seventh child of eight. Mrs. Sneed had been a longtime member of North Birdwell Lane United Methodist Church.Louise married Howard Alexander Sneed on December 31, 1933. He was the son of W.B. and Bessie Sneed, who came to Howard County in 1907 and settled in the Center Point Community. Howard preceded her in death on January 8, 1970.Survivors include: two nieces, Lois Anice Bagett, and Jennifer Lee Farres; two nephews, William Marion Cooper and David Stringfellow Kirkland, and a dear close friend of many years, Merle Haney. The family suggests memorials be made to the North Birdwell Lane United Methodist Church, 2702 N.
