Miss Louise was an absolute joy to be around. I still remember the first time she came into my office at the Herald ... she was years removed from her beloved Alabama, but she still had just enough of that wonderful Southern drawl to mesmerize you. I met her when we were starting a monthly reader's page and she wanted to know if I thought her poetry was "good enough." It was far more than that and she wound up writing more and more for us. When I read that she had passed, I went to a keepsake box I have from my newspaper career and found a couple of her handwritten poems. My life, and the lives of those she touched, are richer because of knowing her. Marsha, thank you for introducing me to your grandmother ... she loved life so very much.

We knew your Mom & Dad back in the 70's going to jamborees. We had a family band called "The Pierce Family" made up of the dad and 3 daughters. We thought a lot of your parents and was just recently wondering about your Mom. We sent our sympathy and may God bless you and minister in your time of missing your Mom. We have been living away from west Texas until recently.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.
