Louis F. DeNyse, 89, of Midland passed away at Midland Memorial Hospital on September 20, 2008. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, at 10:00 am at the Manor Park Chapel with Father Charles Hageman of St. Paul's Anglican Church officiating. Louis's family came to the United States from France in 1638 and was one of the original settlers in Bay Ridge New York City area. He was born on May 1, 1919 in Brooklyn, New York. He married Jane Channing on July 12, 1942 in Staten Island, New York. After attending Rutgers University, he joined the United States Air Force in 1943 and obtained the rank of Lt. Colonel. Jane and Louis lived in Ridgewood, New Jersey for 25 years and then moved to Florida for several years before moving to Midland in 1985 to be close to their family. Louis worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York City for 38 years as a manager of Business Administration and Planning. He was a member of the Huguenot Society, American Legion, Midland Community Theatre, Senior Bowling League, Society of American Wars, Reserve Officers Association, Retired Officers Association, and St. Paul's Anglican Church. Louis also enjoyed golfing very much, but he only golfed on days that end in the letter "y". Survivors include his wife Jane DeNyse of Midland; son Louis DeNyse of Kernersville, North Carolina; daughters Carol (Dee) Morris and husband Paul of Midland; Georgene Lunberry and husband Tyler of Hyderabad, India; sister Winifred Mueller of Tenafly, New Jersey; ten grandchildren, Dawn Hebert, Deanne DeNyse, Dara Solis, Darla DeNyse, Tamara Beachum, Amy Atnipp, Paige Worley, Megan Lunberry, Trent Lunberry, and Dana Lunberry. Louis is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to: Manor Park, 2208 N.
