Lorna Raven, daughter of Franklin John Meier and his wife Clara Borgstadter Meier, was born on September 24, 1927, in Lincoln County, Kansas. After graduation from Lincoln High School in Lincoln, Kansas, she moved with her parents to Ellsworth, Kansas, where she met her life long companion, Marvin (Shorty) Raven. They were married on September 25, 1947, in Ellsworth, Kansas. The union was blessed with a son and two daughters. The family transferred to Iowa in 1958, to Lincoln, Nebraska in 1960, and came to Midland, Texas the summer of 1967. A full time mother, she loved to bowl, play Bridge, and was a member of the Alter Guild at her church. She remained active in all as long as her health permitted.She was preceded in death by parents; and her husband, Shorty.She is survived by her son, Jim Raven; and her daughters, Marcia Kaderli and her husband Tom and Merle Jean; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Wilma Walker Hoyer.Memorial services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Robert Pase, officiating. Private interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to be made to the Grace Lutheran Church, Hofemann Scholarship Fund, 3000 W.
