Lorene Frances Scott, 75, of Midland, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2008, in Midland. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Saturday, October 11, 2008 at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held in Stockdale, Texas.Lorene was born March 14, 1933, in Bloomington, Illinois to Dorothy and Floyd Baker. She married Howard W. Scott on November 22, 1950 in Pharr, Texas. She was a member of the First Christian Church.Lorene enjoyed having her children home for Christmas. She also enjoyed walking, playing bridge and working crossword puzzles. Her greatest interest was doing genealogy research, where she traveled extensively through 49 states looking for ancestors.Survivors include husband, Howard Scott of Midland; son, Ralph (Bud) Scott and his companion, Sidney Stevens, both of Midland; son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Julia Scott of Mission, Texas; son, Michael Scott and his companion, Patricia Sharkey of Copperas Cove, Texas; sister and brother-in-law, Charlene and Don Beier of Roanoke, Texas; sister, Carol Derby and her companion, Robert Goodlick of LeRoy, Illinois; sister-in-law, Helen Myers of Stockdale, Texas; grandchildren, Crystal and John Dougherty of Houston, Stefanie Scott of Austin, Brian Scott of Houston, Kelcey Scott of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Brittany Scott of Dale, Texas and Austin Scott of Mission, Texas.Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association, 3205 W Cuthbert, Suite 5, Midland, TX 79701.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
