Lois Hall Meek, 82, of Big Spring, died on Friday, May 7, 2004, in a San Angelo hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, May 10, 2004 at the East 4th St. Baptist Church Big Spring with Rev. Dean Thomas, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park Big Spring.The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral home.She was born on April 6, 1922, in Austinville, Alabama and married R. B. Hall, Sr. on November 22, 1941 in Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1970. She later married Maurice Meek on May 23, 1975 in Austin, Texas and he preceded her in death on February 7, 2003.Lois worked for the Big Spring State Hospital as a Activity Therapies Tech for 13 years before retiring. She was a member of East Fourth Street Baptist Church for over 50 years, had taught adult Sunday School, and had served as the secretary for the Adult IV Department. Lois was a devoted wife and mother, she enjoyed cooking, needlework and especially quilting.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rev. R. B. & Helen Hall, Jr. of Dripping Springs; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Letress and Mike Tavaglione of Fort Worth, Phillis and Rev. James Mitchell of San Angelo and Jeanette Florence of Linden; a step son and wife, Ray and Yolanda Meek of Midland; a step daughter and husband, Kay and Darrell Elmore of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and three other daughters-in-law, Mary Ann Hall of Big Spring, Mary Hall of San Antonio, Ming Taylor of Big Spring; one other son-in-law, Buford Hull of Big Spring; one sister, Jean Cooper, of Big Spring; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Phillip Hall and Perry Hall, one brother, and four sisters.The family suggests memorials to the East Fourth Street Baptist Church, 401 East Fourth Street, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
