Lloyd Allan Heineman, 88, of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 in Midland, Texas. Memorial services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Nalley Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.Lloyd was born on August 24, 1926 in El Paso, Texas to Charles and Ann Heineman. He graduated in 1945 from Ysleta High, he loved football and was voted the most valuable player his senior year. From there he went on to play 4 years of college football at the School of Mines (UTEP) and also played in the Sun Bowl in 1948. He married the love of his life Peggy Sue Harper on June 30, 1949 in El Paso, Texas.He served in World War II in the Merchant Marines, and then joined the US Air Force during the Korean War. He attained the rank of 1st Lieutenant and then served 2 years in the reserve.Lloyd and Peggy moved to Midland, Texas in 1956 where they raised two sons, Scott and Craig.Lloyd loved the great outdoors, bass fishing with his sons & friends was his passion, he loved hunting as well, he taught his boys to share the love of the great outdoors. He enjoyed doing volunteer work for the church, and loved singing in the choir.Lloyd always had a smile on his face, it was very contagious!He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Sue Heineman, Scott Heineman and Missy Spelling, Craig Heineman, 3 grandchildren, Courtney, Tyler, Hillary and 4 Great grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ann Heineman, brother Kenneth Heineman, and sister Doris Guthrie.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be donated to Alzheimer’s Association, 4400 N.
