Linda Faye Glaspie Fryar, 73, of Stanton, TX passed away on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. Services will be held on Saturday, July 1 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church in Stanton, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great nephews.
Linda was born on February 26, 1950 in Big Spring, TX to Claud and Grace (McKee) Glaspie. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1968. She was a homemaker and a childcare provider. In April of 1992, she began work at Eiland and Associates in Stanton, and continued working there for almost 31 years, having recently retired. Linda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stanton.
Linda was known for her quiet demeanor, her attention to detail, her cleaning abilities, her paper goods stock, her witty humor, and her chocolate cake. She enjoyed playing the lottery and other various contests. She was thrilled when she won $10,000 playing the dollar game on a local radio contest in November of 2021. Those closest to her know how much time and organization she put into collecting those dollar bills.
Linda is survived by her children: Kristi Peterson (John) of Shiner, Craig Fryar (Tracy) of Stanton and Dana Lauderdale (Ricky) of Stanton; one brother, Bud Glaspie (Marilyn) of Stanton, TX, three sisters, Helen Perry (Al) of Dallas, Betty Thompson (Donny) of Hideaway, and LaWanda Lawhorn (Craig) of Temple, and her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Gran”: Logan Fryar, Amber Peterson, Alyssa Peterson, Austin Fryar, Carson Lauderdale, Ryan Peterson, Aidan Galaviz, Kynlee Lauderdale and Trace Lauderdale, as well as numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents Claud and Grace Glaspie, and her sister, Mary Daughhettee.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Midland, Gentiva Hospice, Martin County Senior Center, her special coworkers and friends: Frances, Karen, Teresa, Elaine, and Sissy, and those who have offered support in the form of prayers, kind words and food. The biggest thank you goes to her two granddaughters, Amber and Alyssa, who have been her live-in caregivers for the past few months.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Stanton, Evergreen Cemetery, or Martin County Senior Center.
