Linda Dove, a longtime Midland resident, passed away on February 22, 2018 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s. She was born on March 16, 1945 to Vernon and Tharon Todd in Lamesa, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Fairmont Park Church of Christ. Her graveside service will follow at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder, Texas at 3:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 25, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.Linda moved with her family to Lake J.B. Thomas where she attended Murphy School 1st and 2nd grade. She then transferred to Borden County schools where she completed her education. On September 1, 1962 (the first day of “Dove” season), Linda married her high school sweetheart, Donnie Dove, at Lake J.B. Thomas. They made their first home and started their family in Abilene, Texas where Donnie completed his bachelor’s degree at Abilene Christian University. In 1965, the family moved to Lubbock, Texas where they remained briefly before making Midland, Texas their permanent home. After her kids entered school, she began working for Midland Christian Schools in 1974 where she worked for eight years. She then started her 28-year career with Parker & Parsley, later renamed Pioneer Natural Resources, where she was employed until her retirement in 2013. Linda enjoyed scrapbooking, sewing, gardening, cooking, the occasional Bingo game with co-workers, and most importantly spending time with her family. Hawaii was her favorite vacation destination where she and Donnie enjoyed two fabulous and amazing trips. Linda’s love of fishing has been passed down to her kids and grandkids. She was very proud of her eight grandkids and followed them in all of their activities. She was always giving of her time to various nonprofit organizations such as Meals on Wheels, Rape Crisis Center, and other groups within her church home. She was a member of Fairmont Park Church of Christ.Survivors include her husband, Donnie M. Dove; daughter, Teressa Scharfenberg, husband Robert and their children, Ryan and Malin; son, Keith Dove, wife Amanda and their children, Kelsey, Kyndall and Kennedy; daughter, Tamara Fouts, husband Chad and their children Calen, Hadley, and Harrison; sisters, Lanis Ramsey, husband Lloyd; Verna Adcock, husband Randy; Janice Hogg, husband Glenn; her sister-in-law, Cheryl McWilliams, husband Marlon; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Tharon Todd; grandsons, Nicholas and Nathan Dove, her father and mother-in-law, James A. and Shirley Dove; and two nephews, Doug McWilliams and Brandon Adcock.The family suggests donations be made to: American Parkinson’s Disease Association (APDA) in memory of Linda Dove.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
