Lily M. Hurlbert Hoeye Hazlewood of Midland passed away January 15, 2008. Two days before her 89th birthday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 to 11:30 on Friday, January 18, 2008.She was born January 17, 1919 to Bessie and Forrest Hurlbert in Marshalltown, IA. Her early years were in Hardinville, IL. However, she graduated from Midland High School and moved to Los Angeles after graduation. She returned to Midland in 1958.She was a cashier at Safeway on Baird Street and a reconciliation clerk at First National Bank, retiring in 1980. She married Loyace B. Hazlewood of Stanton on May 27, 1968.During her lifetime, Lily helped others with whatever she had at hand. She was a good friend, a great single mother and wonderful wife. She is survived by her husband, Loyace Hazlewood of Midland; her son, Michael Hoeye of Portland, Oregon; her daughter, Patricia Hoeye Tate of Kansas City, Missouri; and step-children, Loyace Ann Fincher and Wallace Hazlewood both of Midland and Kenneth Hazlewood of Houston, Texas.Lily loved to travel.
