Lillian Arnett Jones, of McKinney, Texas passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016. The family will receive friends and loved ones on Thursday, September 1, 2016 from 6:00-8:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2016 at 10:00AM at Resthaven Memorial Park.Lillian was born on January 13, 1920 to Effie and J.G. Arnett in Big Spring, Texas. She graduated from Midland High School in 1938. She went on to Draughans Business College, where she won an award for typing excellence. Lillian returned to Midland to work at an insurance agency and went on to work as the Music Secretary for the First Baptist Church of Midland. She married Richard H. Jones, Jr., on May 15, 1942. Lillian later worked for West Texas Oil Reports, where she retired. Her hobbies included knitting, playing cards and dominoes, reading, and traveling. She was also very involved in the care and upbringing of her grandchildren,She is survived by her children: Gail Jones Ashby and husband, Walter, of McKinney, Texas and Richard Jones, III. She has three grandchildren: Beth Ann Ashby Jones and husband Curtis Jones, of Anna, Texas, Jesse Jones of Groesbeck, Texas, and Becky Ashby Castro and husband John David Castro of Austin, Texas. Lillian was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Garrett & Abby Jones of Anna, Texas and Ethan & Eliana Castro of Austin, Texas.She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Jones, Jr., her parents, and all ten of her siblings.Pallbearers, selected by Lillian, will be: Jesse Jones, Curtis Jones, John David Castro, Glenn Blankenship, Dewayne Richters, Billy Spears, Dean Richters, R. L. Coates and Don Richters.Honorary pallbearers, also selected by Lillian, will be: Garrett Jones and Ethan Castro.Special thanks to Chris and Gracie Hill for their continued love and support in her final years.Lillian’s church and mission work were two of her greatest passions. She faithfully supported Buckner Orphanage (now Buckner International) for much of her adult life. The family suggests memorials be donated to a mission organization of your choice, in lieu of flowers.,
