Lilla Mae Drewery

Lilla M. Drewery, 95, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, April 5, 2009, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Binnix, pastor of Midway Baptist Church, officiating. She was born on January 11, 1914, in Cisco, Texas and married Rev. Virgil Drewery on July 5, 1929 in Loraine, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1976. Lilla was a pastors wife, serving in the Texas and New Mexico area. She had worked with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for a number of years and was a loving and caring mother and grandmother. She was a member of Midway Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Dale Drewery of Tyler; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Audine and John Harris of Aubrey, Dot and Loy Ditto of Big Spring, Nadelle and Lomer Williams of Anniston, Alabama; Darlene and George Bennett of Scottsburg, Indiana Shirlene Gunter of Farmington, New Mexico and Glynn Drewery of Coahoma; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Kinard Drewery and Wayne Drewery; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to Midway Baptist Church, 6200 S.
