Lila Masters

Lila Masters, 93 of Midland, passed away on March 26, 2006, at the Hospice Inpatient Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at 2:00 pm at the Monahans Memorial Cemetery in Monahans, Texas, with Pastor Waymon Swopes officiating.She was born August 16, 1912 in Mexia, Texas to William and Josie Mays. In 1928, she married Murdock Masters, he preceded her in death in 1958.She was a past member of the Eastern Star and Rebecca?s. Lila was a member of Parker Heights First Christian Church in Odessa and has taught Sunday school there. Lila was known for her Christmas decorations and enjoyed hand crafts and embroidery. She loved pets and especially children. Ms. Masters was a friend to all.Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob & Brenda Masters of Midland; a daughter and son-in-law, Charlene & Williard Gunter of Midland; a daughter-in-law, JoAnn Masters of Odessa, eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Marion Masters and Jack Masters, and her husband.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
