Lila JoEtta Rogers Street was born on December 5, 1936 to Willie and Alice Rogers in Elk City, Oklahoma. She was the youngest of four children. While working with her fathers plumbing business, JoEtta met and began dating Leon Street. JoEtta graduated from Elk City High School in 1955. She married the love of her life, Leon, on August 24, 1956 in Elk City, Oklahoma. In July of 1957, God blessed the couple with a daughter, Pamela Jo Street. In 1962, the family moved to Norman, Oklahoma, and in September of 1963, God blessed the couple once again with a son, Clint Street. As grandchildren came along, JoEtta and Leon became affectionately known as Nana and Papa. Nana and Papa resided in Norman until the summer of 2004 when they moved to Midland, Texas. Heart surgery and a diagnosis of dementia did not diminish the love and care that Nana showed for her family. The dementia rapidly progressed into Alzheimers shortly after. Even through all of the difficulties of this disease, Nana continued to be her sweet, loving self until the Lord called her home on Mothers Day, May 12, 2013. After 53 years of missing her Momma, Nana was able to celebrate Mothers Day with her mother in Heaven. Nana is survived by her husband of 56 years, Leon Street of Midland, TX; one daughter, Pamela Jo Cook and her husband, Dennis Cook Sr. of Elk City, OK; one son, Clint Street and his wife, Carmen Street of Midland, TX; one sister, Willivee Wright and her husband, Percy Wright of Madera, CA; seven grandchildren- Kelly Jo Myers and her husband Kerry Myers of Clinton, OK; Dennis R Cook Jr. of Elk City, OK; Michelle Clawson and her husband Damon of Midwest City, OK; Tommy Wilhite and his wife Megan of Odessa, TX; Angela Wilhite of Midland, TX; Cory Street and his fianc, Ashlynn Rotan of Midland, TX; and Whitney Street of Midland, TX; seven great grandchildren- Gage Clawson, Tanner Clawson, Kolby Myers, Carol Wallace, Kolton Myers, Kannon Myers, and Jeremiah Wilhite. Nana is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Stonegate Fellowship with Rev.
