Liberato “Lee” Valles Galan, 67 of Midland, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at home. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the Branch at npw, from 8:00am – 9:00pm with a rosary recited at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Friday, April 28, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and Shrine with Father David Herrera officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Liberato was born on December 11, 1955 in Midland, Texas to Luis Galan, Sr. and Hilaria (LaLa) Valles Galan. He graduated from Lee High School. He worked as an independent contractor in Midland for many years up until his death.
When he wasn’t working, Lee was always spending time with his family and friends. He will be jokingly remembered for his strong and opinionated personality by those that knew him. He loved music, dancing, helping people and being in the presence of loved ones and friends. He was a loving dad, brother, grandpa, caring and hardworking man with a beautiful soul that touched many lives. He will be greatly missed by his family and his friends.
Lee is survived by two sons, Ricky Galan of Winchester, CA and Roman Galan of El Paso, TX; two daughters, Bernadette Baker of Raleigh, NC and Alicia Ruiz of Weatherford, TX; four brothers, Luis Galan, Chon Galan, Mack Galan and CleoFas Galan all of Midland, TX; and three sisters, Angelina Galan Veloz, Felis Galan Guerrero, Maria Galan Martinez all of Midland, TX; twelve grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Hilaria (LaLa) Galan; one son, Liberato Martinez; four brothers, Felipe, Paul, Jose and Ricardo Galan.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Midland Memorial Hospital 9th floor staff, Hospice of Midland, family, friends, and neighbors for all prayers and love.
