Lewis M. Nixon, 74, of Big Spring, died on Monday, June 14, 2004, in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 17, 2004 at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Rosewood Chapel, Big Spring with Dale Mannon, minister of Greenlawn Church of Christ, Lubbock, officiating. Interment will follow at Denver City Cemetery, Denver City.He was born on March 25, 1930, in Clyde, Texas and married Letha Pate on June 12, 1953 in Lovington, New Mexico. Lewis came to Big Spring in 1986 from Denver City and had worked for Exxon as field foreman retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Church of Christ and had served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1956.Survivors include his wife, Letha Nixon of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Nancy Nixon of Idalou; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lonora Nixon of Big Spring and Becky and Kendall Cowan of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Jenni Cowan of Dallas, David Cowan of Lubbock, Ross Nixon, Eric Nixon and Adam Nixon all of Idalou.The family suggests memorials to: Howard County ARC, P.O.
