Leta Mae Denny, 77, of Midland passed away on April 2, 2009 at Midland Memorial Hospital. A memorial service has been set for 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 1300 W. Louisiana, with Rev. Paula Brooks and Dr. Robert Bell, officiating. She was born in Rushville, Missouri on March 18, 1932 to Evelyn and E.C. Burdette. On August 24, 1952, she married Leo "Mick" Denny in Atchison, Kansas. Leta and Leo moved to Midland in 1958 where she was a member of the Permian Basin Board of Realtors and the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Survivors include her husband, Leo "Mick" Denny of Midland; three sons, Kevin Denny and wife Pam of Granbury, Mike Denny of San Antonio and Mark Denny of Plano; six grandchildren, Jennifer Borchardt and husband Nathan of Ft. Worth, Paula Kent and husband Cody of Lewisville, Nolan Denny of Plano, Jack Denny of Plano, Brenden Denny of San Antonio, Brena Denny of San Antonio; one great-grandchild, Bruce Kent of Lewisville; brother, Eddie Burdette and wife Mary of Great Falls, MT; sister-in-law Shirley Dunster of Ponca City, OK; numerous nieces and nephews. I didn't know Lee well, but she seemed like a very gracious and friendly lady. Our Sunday School Class will miss her charming presence.

Mick: I was heart broken to learn of Lee's death. She was a dear friend and assisted me in buying and selling several homes including the one where I currently reside. My ex-husband, Tom Parker knows you, though I've not had the pleasure of meeting you. Lee always spoke very highly of you when we had lunch on Luby's on numerous occasions. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her as she was such a sweet and dear person. With deepest sympathy, Suzy Harris and Tom Parker

To the Denny Family, Lee will always have a special place in our heart. She was so wonderful when Mom died-she came in and stayed at the house, took care of all the food, and made sure we were eating-she was such a blessing to us. She was truely a gracious woman.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you today as you mourn and send Lee to be with the Lord. Your family blessed mine in so many ways and I have fond thoughts of each of you from my childhood years watching many Football, Baseball and Track contests, of Kevin's and Dan's. My Mom & Dad loved Lee and are grateful for the fond memories and friendship. On behalf of Jack, Dorothy, Dan and my family, I send my love to each of you!
