Leo "Murrel" Loudamy, 90, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, December 18, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home State Room with Walter McCall, chaplain with Compass Hospice, officiating. Interment will follow at Miles Cemetery, Miles, Texas.He was born on November 13, 1919, in Big Spring, Texas to Otha George and Nina May Loudamy. He married Mary Lee Combs on February 25, 1940 in Miles, Texas and she preceded him in death on March 15, 2008.Murrel was an avid outdoorsman, a fisherman, hunter, and was happiest when he was "out in nature" as he phrased it. He welded decorative wrought iron for a hobby. He retired from Civil Service after 34 years as a jet aircraft mechanic, with a specialty in wing rigging. He worked at Webb AFB until its closing, then Laughlin AFB in Del Rio, Texas until retirement.He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Low of Big Spring; two granddaughters, Lisa Page of Big Spring and Lee Ann Dorton and husband, John of Abilene; two great-granddaughters, Amanda Morrow and husband, Dusty of Sweetwater and Jessica Bomar of Midland; and four great-great-grandchidren, Melanie and McKayla Morrow, and Dexter and Delighlah Bomar. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Avis Krueger, Veda Paget, and Georgia Hayden, and his son-in-law, Jimmy D.
