Leeon Dale Davis, 77, went to his eternal home on Saturday, April 7, 2007 in Midland.Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 9, 2007 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2101 Tarleton in Midland, with Darrell Bushman, Greg Daniels, and Bruce Bauer officiating. Graveside services will be at 4:30 PM Tuesday at Western Roses Memorial Park, 4100 North FM 1788, in Midland.Leeon was born March 9, 1930 in Lake Village, Indiana to Halsey and Belva Davis. He entered the US Air Force at the age of 20 and was stationed at Gary Air Force Base in San Marcos, Texas. He married his sweetheart on July 21, 1953 in Lake Village, Indiana. He was a Texas resident for 40 years and lived in the Midland area for 28 years. He designed and built homebuilt aircrafts. He helped over 50 boys build their Soap Box Derby cars. At Akron, Ohio, one placed 4th and one took the world championship with his unique laydown design. He never met a stranger and was always willing to help someone in need. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and loved to do missionary and temple work.He is survived by his wife: June Davis of Midland; 3 sons: Harold Davis and wife Alexa of Midland, Brian Davis and wife Jennifer of San Marcos, and Todd Davis of Midland; 1 daughter: Charise Daniels and husband Greg of Price, Utah; 1 brother: Stanley Davis of Demont, Indiana; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Midland, 911 West Texas, Midland, Texas 79701 and to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Perpetual Education Fund, 4504 Pasadena Drive, Midland, Texas 79703.,
