Lee Roy Day, 97, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, October 19, 2007 at the Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Chaplain Walter McCall, of Odyssey Hospice, officiating.The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.She was born on July 7, 1910, in Howard County, Texas and married D. P."Cowboy" Day on July 2, 1927. He preceded her in death on April 28, 1989.A lifetime resident, Lee Roy loved to travel, talk, dance, fish and being with her family. She learned to water ski at the age of 60. She was a hard worker and managed up to 14 rental properties. She was a member of East 4th Street Baptist Church since March 1952 and a member of the Spring City Senior Citizens Center.Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, D. W. "Dub" and Nannie Faye Day of Forsan; one son-in-law, B. D. Mason of Big Spring; one sister, Helen Wooldridge of Canyon Lake; four grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Dorothy Lee Mason; one grandson, Jerry Mason; one great granddaughter, Linette Mason; one great grandson, Jody Day; three sisters, LaVerne Webb, Mildred Petroski, and Clara Yeats; and one brother, Jack Franklin.
