Lee Graves

Lee Graves went to be with his Savior and Lord on March 3, 2021 at Faith Presbyterian Center in Dallas, Texas.

Lee was born in Lenorah, Texas, August 15, 1934 to Melvin and Zona Graves.  He grew up and spent most of his adult life in Stanton, Texas.  He was married to Mary Frances Cline February 21, 1953.  This year they celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary.

Lee was a businessman and cotton farmer owning his family business Lee Graves Farming Inc. for over 40 years. Lee began farming with his father as a young boy.  He prided himself on excellence in farming and received the Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Farmer of Martin County award in 1973.  Through the years he was active in many community organizations serving on numerous boards and committees.  He retired in Lubbock in 1992.

Lee loved his service in the Church.  He dedicated himself as a deacon and later as an elder in the Saint Mary Street Church of Christ in Stanton.  Lee considered the ministry the most important aspect of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Graves of Lubbock; his daughter, Mrs. Vicki Wells and son-in-law, Mr. Theadore Wells both of Stanton; his son, Dr. Gregory Graves of Dallas; his sister Mrs. Modine Lundgren of Lubbock; his sister Mrs. Lucy Miller and brother-in-law Mr. Merle Miller of Monahans; his sister-in-law, Mrs. Sandy Nowell of Burnet; and sister-in-law Mrs. Jody Barnes of Colorado City.

Lee has four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

Viewing will be Sunday, March 7, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Monday, March 8, 2021 from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton.

A private family graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.
