Lazell Vaughn

Lazell Vaughn, 88, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, February 22, 2004, in a Midland nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 25, 2004 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Lynn Robertson, associate pastor of Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Born on February 21, 1916, in Hartsell, Alabama, Lazell was the daughter of Charles and Lillie Odessa Lovvorn. She married Claude Vaughn on August 16, 1947 in Big Spring and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2002. She was a homemaker and had worked for a number of years at Cunningham & Phillips Drug Store. She was a member of the Community of Hope Church of the Nazarene.Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Gail Briggs of Fredricksburg; her daughter and son-in-law, Lillie and Darrell Pollock of Big Spring; two sisters, Lois Meek and Betty Jean Cooper both of Big Spring; four grandchildren, Tasha Campbell, Liz Ayers, Charlie Pollock and D. L. Pollock and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death also by her parents; one brother, Dillard Lovvorn and three sisters, Opal Box, Montez Owens and Cathrine Lovvorn.
