LaVerne McDiffitt, 68, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, February 4, 2004, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 6, 2004 at Trinity Memorial Park, with Rev. Joe Torres , officiating. She was born on October 6, 1935, in Munday, Texas and married John McDiffitt, Sr. on August 4, 1953, in Midland, Texas.LaVerne was a very family orienated person, she had enjoyed camping with her family in her younger years and always looked forward to getting together with family on holidays. She enjoyed crafts, cooking and playing Nintendo with her grandchildren. She was a Baptist.Survivors include her husband, John McDiffitt, Sr. of Big Spring; two sons John McDiffitt, Jr. of Palestine, and Sonny McDiffitt of Big Spring; two daughters, Mary Forshee of Big Spring and Joyce O'Rear of San Angelo; one brother, John Henry Woodrum of Breckinridge; and eight grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
