Reggie Myrick, 71, of Stanton, died on Wednesday, February 18, 2009, in a Big Spring nursing home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Stanton with, Rev. David Harp, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton. Reggie was born on May 22, 1937 in Colorado City, Texas as Larry Reginald Myrick to Irvin and Ida Walker Myrick. He graduated from high school in Stanton, and served his country in the United States Army in the 24th Infantry Division 2nd Brigade in the 1960's and was stationed in Germany. Reggie married Mary Formwalt on March 1, 1968 in Deming, New Mexico. He was a lifelong farmer and retired as a pumper from R.K. Petroleum in 2002. He loved hunting and fishing above all else and was very proud to be a Texan and an American. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanton, the American Legion, and was a lifelong member of the the National Rifle Association. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Mary Myrick of Stanton: two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Jonama Myrick and Matt and Nora Myrick all of Stanton; two daughters, Terri Davis of Mountain Home and Toni Musick of Spice Wood; five grandchildren, Mason, Miranda, Matthew and Jo Beth Myrick and Sterling Allen all of Stanton; two brothers, James Lester Myrick of Stanton and Rodney Myrick of Lampasas and one sister, Meredith McCulloch of Lockney.
