Larry Don Brookshire, 81 of Midland, Texas, entered into God’s kingdom on February 3, 2024. He was born July 14, 1942, in San Diego, California to L.D. and Modelle Brookshire.

Don grew up in Midland and graduated from Midland High School. Shortly thereafter he started his own metal business, Don’s Metals and later A-1 Metals. He enjoyed watching football and spending time with close friends. One of his favorite places was his pond near his home. Don married Patsy Ruth on November 28, 1994, the loving wife who stood by his side through thick and thin.

He is survived by his children, Robert Brookshire and wife Leann of Austin Texas; Trina Falcon of Andrews, Texas; bonus daughters, Susie Lindley of Ingleside, Texas; Kim Bryand of Stanton, Texas; Lisa Morgan and husband Frank of Sanger, Texas; and brother Bill Brookshire and wife Glenda of Caddo Mills, Texas. He and Patsy Ruth were blessed with sixteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his wife Patsy Ruth Brookshire of Midland, Texas; parents L.D. and Modelle Brookshire of Brownsboro, Texas; sister and brother-in-law Kay and David Rumbo of Chandler, Texas; and son-in-law Charlie Falcon of Andrews, Texas.

A private family graveside service will be scheduled at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton, Texas.

When we think of Uncle Donny, we remember his laughter, love of family, and his sports talks. Forever in our hearts.

It is a privilege to share this time as we remember and honor the life of your loved one. During this time of grief, we wish you comfort and peace.

Dear Robbie and Trina, I saw Don's obit today in the paper. My heartfelt condolences go out to you two. Pat was one of my mom's best friends. She always seemed in a good mood whenever I saw her. Mom also always spoke well of Don. I am stiil in Midland but it has been years since I last saw Don around town. I hope he passed peacefully. I wish you both the best. Take care! We loved our bonus Uncle so much. So sorry to hear this - I am praying for the family to have peace during this time.
