Lanny Turrentine, 64, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at his home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, December 8, 2007, at the funeral home.He was born on September 5, 1943, in Amarillo, Texas and married Frances Davis on July 27, 1962 in Dallas, Texas.Lanny grew up in Monahans and Como and graduated from high school in Dallas. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from TCU in 1966 with a degree in religion and history. Lanny was a golf professional and a life member of the PGA. He moved to Big Spring in July 1988 from Grand Prairie and worked at the Big Spring Country Club from 1988 until retiring in 2000. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a member of Disciples of Christ.Survivors include his wife, Frances Turrentine of Big Spring; two daughters, Christina Santos of Irving and Kari Riley of Mesquite; one son, David Turrentine of Deer Park; eight grandchildren, Joshua Riley of Plano, Lauren Head of Grand Prairie, Rachel Dalton of Irving, Allie Ruiz of Irving, Ethan Riley of Mesquite, Zachary Turrentine of Deer Park, Braden Turrentine of Deer Park, and Kara Santos of Irving; and one great grandson, David Caiden Head of Grand Prairie.He was preceded in death by his parents. The family suggests memorials be made to the Big Spring Humane Society, P. O.
