Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Bud touched more people in more ways than you can imagine. He was my first supervisor in Midland for Mobil. He taught me a great deal about geology, business, and the right way to treat people. He truly was one of the good guys.

Bud was my manager at Superior Oil and Mobil in Midland and was such a super guy to work with. You could tell he really cared about his people and would put their interests ahead of anything else. Bud's sense of humor and irreverence towards bureaucracy made him a hero in our eyes. Our deepest condolences for the loss of your loved one.

Bud was a great friend and a great boss. In my first couple of years out of college Bud was a key figure in my professional life, and I owe him a debt that I can never repay. Thanks, old friend, and happy trails!

Bud was a great guy. He always treated folks right. I very much appreciated his support for me when we worked together. The world is a lesser place with him not in it.

My condolences to the family on the loss of a wonderful man. You can be very proud of Bud and what he meant to us. I worked for him in Midland in the early 90's for Mobil. In those challenging "oil bust" times, Bud always led us youngsters with professionalism, optimism and hope. He knew and taught us solid oil finding and developing geology. He was my sponsor to become a Certified Professional Geologist at AAPG. He always guided us to do our best work, responsibly and ethically. Also important, Bud also knew how to cut around all the big corporate nonsense. Thanks, Bud - what you taught us has stayed with me for 25 years. You will be missed. May God bless and give you all peace. Jorge
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I was blessed to work with and for Bud when we moved from Dallas to Midland in 1986. In the midst of industry trouble he was a steady person who taught me so much about exploring for oil and gas. He was not only a leader at Mobil - he was a friend. He led by example; setting the standard for others to follow. He shared so much of his experiences and gave good advice on wells. My prayers go out to his family. He was one of the best in the business and a wonderful man.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Bud's family. He was my first supervisor, and more importantly, the best mentor I could have wished for. He touched many lives in a positive straight forward manner, for which I was always greatly appreciative.... they just don't make 'em like that any more.

My family and I send our condolences for your loss. I worked for Bud at Superior and Mobil during the mid-80's and early 90's in Midland. Bud was the best boss I've ever had in my 25 yrs in the oil business - a good geologist who taught me much. He was always willing to take time out of his day to help the younger geologists by sharing his knowledge and passion for our business. Bud always had a twinkle in his eye and knew how to balance work with having fun too. He will be missed. Tim Roepke

Doug, Diane, and Steve my heart and prayers go out to you in this very difficult time. God needs to doubly watch over you especially with the recent loss of Nancy. Bud was one of those unique kind of guys that you immediately bonded with whether you were a kid or an adult. I have fond memories of spending time with him at a fishing camp on the Devil's River and later at a hunting camp in London, Texas. I enjoyed being with Bud when we were on a bowling team together. It did not matter that we were not very good. The important thing was to have a little fun in this hectic world. Bud knew the value of having a sense of humor and not taking yourself too seriously. At one point or another we probably all ask ourselves if our lives have meaning. That would be a resounding yes in Bud's case. I know Bud rose from humble circumstances and through hard work and committment he became a very highly regarded geologist. Before that he served his country as a Marine in the Korean War. He also had more friends than you can shake a stick at. Finally he had the comfort and peace in knowing that his kids loved and respected him deeply. Well done Bud. You were a good, good man and I will miss you. Keith
