L. A. Palmer, 73, of Midland, died on Sunday, June 15, 2008, in Midland. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring.L.A. was born August 19, 1934, to Gladys and E.J. Palmer in Big Spring, where he was also raised. He worked as a cook for Herman's Restaurant for over 20 years. He moved to Midland in 2000. L.A. always gave of himself.Survivors include daughter, Shirley Swearengin and her husband, Lueroy, Sr. of Midland; two brothers, Bobby Palmer and his wife, Wanda of Midland and Bernard Hastings and his wife, Minnie of Los Angeles, California; granddaughter, Shenitha Swearengin and her husband, Robbie of Midland; grandson, Lueroy Swearengin, Jr. of Midland; aunt, Lillie Mae Shaw of Midland; uncle, Roger Williams of Midland; and 3 great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his father, E.J. Palmer, mother, Gladys Fuller, brother, Alfred Hastings and sister, JoAnn Palmer.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
