Kristy Jo Fradenburg entered into the presence of the Lord on the 29th of June at the age of 61 in her home in Midland, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. Kristy was a caring wife, devoted mother and true believer in Jesus Christ.
She was born in Houston, Texas on October 16, 1962 and was a graduate of Midland Lee High School and the University of Texas. Kristy received a bachelor’s degree in education and nursing and taught high school physics and German for 16 years. Her life was full of travel – she lived in several states and countries, including Japan and Italy – before returning home to Midland for the last decade of her life.
Kristy will be remembered by her husband for her gracious loving spirit towards him. I am honored to have been her husband. It was so humbling to her that so many people from the different areas of her life showed her the love of Christ in her battle with cancer. She never realized how many lives she had touched. Her love for community bible study and the special ladies she taught with helped prepare her for the last six months of her life. She was so blessed to have been surrounded by so many Godly women who pointed her towards Christ. I will so miss my love Kristy, but know she is now residing in Heaven with Jesus. Revelation 21:4 says, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” In this I rest in peace knowing Kristy is no longer suffering in her earthly body.
Kristy will be remembered by her children for her unconditional love and support, her unwavering strength of character and her easy laugh. We were blessed to have her as our mother and by the strength and practicality with which she lived. A strong-willed woman, Mom will be missed as a confidant, friend, cheerleader and coach. She filled so many places in our lives and we are grateful for the time God granted us with her on this earth. Her memory and example will live on in each of us, in our own way.
Kristy is survived by her husband, Glen Fradenburg, her children Brian Shelburne and his wife Morgan, Matthew Shelburne and Sadie Lauwers (Shelburne) and her husband Sean, her mother Bettye Bartosh (Cervenka) and her five siblings, Joy Helbing (Bartosh), Jan Novosad (Bartosh), Gil (Gib) Bartosh, Jr., Holly Sarcinella (Bartosh), and Becky Vanderberry (Bartosh). Glen’s children are Hil Fradenburg and his wife Taylor, son Holden Glenn, George Fradenburg and his wife Katherine Layne, sons John B and Ellis, Anna Fradenburg Coleman and her husband Brad, daughter Ellie Todd.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gil Bartosh.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Stonegate Fellowship, 6000 W. Wadley Avenue in Midland.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences
