Kimberly Gay Adkins, 56, of Midland, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Midland. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 3:00PM at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Midland. Visitation will begin earlier at 2:00 and after the service at the same location.Kimberly was born on February 28, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas to Wayne and Gale Barnes. She grew up in Zachary, Louisiana.She is survived by her husband, Court Adkins; children, Danielle, Jared and Angelica Adkins; father, Wayne Barnes and step-mother, Joyce; siblings, Eberly Barnes, Sharlon Barnes, Trevon Barnes, and Leyette Johnson.She is preceded in death by her mother, Gale Louise Beyette.Kimberly was a blessing to all who knew her. She was a vibrant, beautiful redhead who devoted her life to her children and husband. She was born to be a mother and loved hosting birthday parties, travelling with her family, homeschooling her children, and creating a beautiful home. She was also a dedicated and wonderful friend, confidante, and advocate. She was known for her kind heart and wise soul, her generosity, her sweetness, and her fun-loving personality. Quiet and somewhat shy, she was a proud mom, loving wife, and remarkable friend, consistently genuine, honest, grounded, receptive, sacrificing, and forgiving. She listened deeply and connected with a person’s heart and spirit. Kimberly was particularly known for her profound prayers that gave comfort and support to her friends and family.Kimberly faced illness with courage and grace and was an example to all who met her. Her bravery, good cheer, acceptance, and resilience inspired and touched lives. Her wisdom, kindness, insight, laughter, giggles, and sweet smile will be forever cherished.
