Kimberly Dee Stephens Hunt, known to those who loved her as “KK,” passed from this life into eternal rest on the 15th of November, 2024 in Midland, Texas at the age of sixty-two. Born on the 21st of July, 1962, residing in Decatur, TX, she was the cherished daughter, mother, and grandmother, aunt, cousin, & friend whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered by many for her laid-back personality, doors open welcoming anyone, and her willingness to care for children, everyone was family.
She leaves behind her beloved mother, Wilma Ellis, residing in Midland, Texas; her only son, Christopher Stephens & wife Texann of Lubbock, Texas; her loving daughters, Ashlyn Collins-Callen & husband Chris Arista of Big Spring, Texas, and Taylor Maldonado & husband Moses of Midland, Texas. Kimberly’s legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Emmalyn Callen, Maverick Maldonado, Reagan Callen, and McKinley Maldonado. Her daughters would like to recognize people who were special to their mom, she cherished her Clement cousins, aunts, & uncles, The Collins family she shared her daughters with, Ellis family that were her own, Mertz family, Ervey & Carmelo Vallejo, Darlene & Larry Pryor, Sally Jurado and many friends of her daughters she took in as her own.
She was greeted in the kingdom of heaven by her late father, Paul Ellis; her sister, LaDeana Johnson; and her dear grandchildren, Malachi Maddox Maldonado and Celeste Danielle Arista, & many aunts and uncles, who preceded her in death.
Her girls would like her to be remembered for her open-door policy, comedic relief if you were lucky, cold beverages round the clock, & no judgement allowed. She was a woman ready to share what she believed in, it was her way or the highway, although she didn’t say much, it was loud and clear, Love was for everyone, respect is given not earned, & home was where she was.
