Kim Mehringer, 60, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017. The family accepted guests from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 13, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Stonegate Fellowship. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Kim was born May 1, 1956 in Larned, Kansas to Phillip and LaDonna Derley Mehringer. Kim met Jane at Dallas Baptist College. They were married in Andrews, TX on June 17, 1977. They lived in Hobbs, NM for a brief time. They then moved to Dallas, where their children, Amy and Aaron were born. During their beginning, Kim worked and Jane raised the kids. They were active in church from day one and remain so. They left Dallas and moved to Andrews to live with Jane’s parents while Kim was finishing college. He graduated from UTPB with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management Systems. They lived a full life raising their own kids, and working with either high school or college groups. During those wonderful years, they did mission work from Mexico to Canada and finally their dream of mission work in Africa came true as well.Kim loved talking to people and would talk to people until the cows came home. While in Andrews they owned a video store, which allowed them to get to know, love and minister to many. It was the perfect place for the Mehringers, as movies were always their favorite pastime. They believed in an open door policy and many teens and young adults could be found in their home regularly. It wasn’t unusual for them to find one of those kids asleep on a couch. Kim was always willing to jump in and play whatever game was being played and instantly became a kid again. As time moved on, Amy married Joe Peteet, who was a blessing to their family and loved as a son. Aaron now has two children, Mackenzie and Jaxson. Their family is close and love being together. Their home is always filled with laughter. We can’t really imagine our life without Kim, but we know what he would want of us — to continue loving and supporting each other as God loves us. Our thanks to all of you for being with us now. Your love has truly been felt. May you all be richly blessed.Kim is survived by his wife, Gloria Jane Mehringer; daughter, Amy Peteet and husband Joe; son, Aaron Mehringer; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Jaxson Mehringer; brother, Scott Mehringer and his wife Linda; brother, Eric Mehringer; sister, Shonda Nelson and husband Charlie.
