Kenneth Wade Sewell passed away on December 13, 2015 in the care of Hospice.He was born in Nocona, TX on September 26, 1929 to Dewey Hobson Sewell and Laura Jaye Griffith. He graduated from Nocona High School and Midwestern University where he played basketball. After graduation, he taught 5th and 6th graders and coached their basketball and football teams at West Elementary in Midland. After one year, he was hired as the first fulltime basketball coach at Midland High School. Leaving there he lived in several Texas cities where he was in sales for Milchem Mud Company coming back to Midland in 1973 and remained there until moving to a retirement area in Southlake, TX in May of 2014.He was a member of Midland Country Club where he spent many happy hours with his great buddies on the golf course. He was also a member of First Presbyterian Church of Midland where he served as a deacon, Midland Petroleum Club and Barry Beal's Bible Study.He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda, his son, Kelly Sewell and wife Terry Lynn of Flower Mound, TX and his daughter Kim Sewell Spence and husband, Jay, of Coppell, TX. He was Pops to his much loved grandchildren, Ben Sewell and wife, Julie, of Shrewsbury, MA; James Spence of Dallas; Graceanne Sewell Brim and husband, Justin, of San Antonio and Sarah Jaye Spence of Norman, OK. Also surviving are step-grandchildren Amanda Carpenter Kelly and husband, Chuck, and children, Kalen and Kamryn of Trophy Club, TX, and by Brandon Carpenter and wife, Jennifer of Lewisville, TX and numerous extended family members and friends.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations can be made to Hospice, First Presbyterian Church of Midland, 800 W. Texas Ave., Midland, TX 79701, Carry the Load, an organization to help veterans, 4145 Travis St., Suite 202, Dallas, TX 75204 or a charity of your choice.A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, December 21, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church in Midland. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Hill, Charles Ray, Perry Bolger, Jim Lucas, Charles Koch, Carl Brininstool, Glen Ellis, Dale Sumrall, and R.
