Kenneth Lee Kasseroler passed from his earthly home to arrive at his heavenly home on November 25, 2022.
Kenneth was born to Kenneth and Freda Kasseroler in Beaumont, Texas on December 16, 1939. He enjoyed his growing up years in Beaumont. He could be found on skates, his favorite scooter or later in his car. After high school graduation he enjoyed a year at Abilene Christian University. Returning to Beaumont to marry his high school sweetheart, Virginia Rogers in 1958. Kenneth completed his Business Degree at Lamar University. He worked full time at the family business, Costal Packing Co. To this union was born a son, Kenny and 8 years later a daughter, Cheri. He was very proud that he had a son to carry the Kasseroler name and a daughter that was the first to be born into the Kasseroler family in 72 years.
In 1985 Kenneth relocated to Midland, Texas and started a new business career during these early years he worked oil field sales and sold insurance for various companies. Through a friendship with John Ushry he was able to get a start as a landman. This led to some of his greatest joys. Kenneth often said, “I wish I had discovered land work years earlier as it was the most fun and most enjoyable work he ever had in his career.”
Kenneth is survived by his wife Phala, his two children, Kenny Kasseroler (Susan) of Lumberton, Texas, and Cheri Kasseroler Roblyer (Brian) of Katy, Texas. Also, three stepchildren, Brett Smith (Alison), Tamara Smith-Humphries and Sheldon Smith (Laura).
Through their 35 years and 7 months of marriage Phala’s children called Kenneth the “Guru of How To” because of his willingness to always come when called upon to help with their little projects.
Through the two marriages Kenneth was blessed with 14 grandchildren: Tiffany Kasseroler Gaytan (Armando), Chase Kasseroler (Kayleigh), Austin Roblyer, Cameron Roblyer, his special angel, Taylor Roblyer, Layton Flynn (Laura), Jared Flynn (Nicole), Crawford Smith (Caroline), Abigal Reardon (Alex), Carter Smith (Kirsten), Karlie Smith, Jathyn Young, and Marley Young.
In addition were the great-grandchildren Ken was blessed with: Brynn Gaytan, Jace Flynn, Scarlett Flynn, Essie Smith, Scotty Smith, Kane Reardon, Collins Reardon, Alison Reardon, and Quinn Smith.
Kenneth’s love, his laughter, his “Gumbo”, his phone calls, his calm advice and his wonderful hugs will be missed by all who loved him. He especially loved making memories with those he loved.
The service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
