Kelly Grover, 42, beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, May 18, 2012, at Stonegate Fellowship with Pastor Mike Goeke officiating.Cherished memories of her remarkable life will remain with her husband, David Grover, her three daughters, Riley, Colby and Landry, her parents H.L. “Dusty” and Barbara Rhodes, all of Midland; her sister, Leslie Rhodes, of Lubbock; her father- and mother-in-law, Arden and Rosalind Redfern Grover, of Midland; her brothers-in-law, Arden “Tex” Grover, Jr., and Jeff Grover; her sister-in-law, Rosson Grover; her nephew, Kapps Killingstad; and her niece, Rosalind Killingstad, all of Dallas. Kelly was a 1987 graduate of Lee High School in Midland, and a 1993 graduate of Texas Tech University. She married the love of her life, David, on April 30, 1997, in Carmel, California.Kelly loved the Lord her entire life. One of her greatest pleasures was sharing her faith with her precious girls and the people who God sent to Kelly for encouragement. She earnestly believed in God’s ability to perform miracles in each of our lives and especially hers. And, she had the clarity to see miracles others might miss. Certainly, she knew that the greatest miracles God ever sent were her three radiant daughters, whose lights will always shine to the glory of God and their momma.Kelly and David’s home was and will continue to be the “fun” house; the house where all the kids play. Kelly was the quintessential “Kool-Aid Mom,” opening her heart and her home to her daughters’ friends, their moms and anyone else who needed a shoulder or a smile. It abounded with patience, love, laughter, happy dogs, and a pantry full of after-school snacks and a driveway arrayed with scooters and soccer balls. Throughout her life, Kelly was a loyal, caring and true friend. In the past several months, her friendship was repaid many times through the selfless devotion of her closest friends and the support she and her family received from the families, faculty and administration of Trinity School and the greater Midland community as a whole. The Grover and Rhodes families wish to thank Sally Agar, Manisha and Anand Cholia, Christine Foreman, Degan Fricker, Caroline Hinson, and Jane Shepperd particularly for their love and support for Kelly and her family. In remembrance of Kelly, the family suggests memorials be made to the Kelly Rhodes Grover Endowment Fund at Midland Memorial Hospital or to a charity of your choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
