Keith Laverne Mikeworth, 91, of Midland, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023. Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, January16, 2023 at 2:00pm at One Hope Church of Christ.
Keith was born on December 21, 1931, to Marie and Kenneth Mikeworth in Robinson, Illinois. He graduated from High School and served in the National Guard. He met, and soon after married, the love of his life, Wanelle Greene. Though literally working most all the years of his life, his time was also full of hobbies, as he was never one to “sit still”.
Keith was a life-time member of the Eastern Star, holding many positions in the local chapter multiple times, as well as, in the Grand Chapter of Eastern Star.
Touring Keith’s home, reflects the talent of the hobbies he and his bride were gifted with. Together they owned a ceramic shop and held classes for ceramic, porcelain, stoneware, and even lace-draping figurines. A ceramic corporation recognized their talent to the extent as to sponsor them to travel and teach classes around the USA, Canada, and Germany.
Most will remember Keith for his lively personality, for having a thankful heart, and hardly ever saying “No” to anything requested of him. He could not even tell his oldest daughter “no” when she asked if he would like to work for the Midland County Sheriff’s Office part-time and she would be his “boss”.
Midland County Sheriff’s Office was blessed to have Keith as a part-timer for over 10 years, despite having his daughter “over” him. He quickly had his position caught up from duties left by his predecessor and organized so that things were running more effectively and efficiently.
Keith was survived by his wife of 71yrs, Wanelle Mikeworth, 3 children: Linda(Corley) Mikeworth of Midland, Cindy & husband, Juan Dawson of Rose Hill, Kansas and Douglas & wife, Patricia Mikeworth of Grand Prairie, 9 grandchildren, and equally blessed with 11 great-grandchildren.
Keith was preceded in death by his son, William (Bill) Keith Mikeworth.
