Kayla LeAnn Sanders, age 26, of Coahoma, TX, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at her home. Funeral services will be 2pm Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5pm – 7pm Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.

Kayla was born February 17, 1997, in Big Spring, TX to James and Michele Sanders. She grew up in Coahoma and graduated from Westbrook High School in 2015. The love of Kayla’s life were her puppies Stryker and Chloe. Kayla enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nephew Bannon. Kayla truly loved all the children she taught at Howard Cottage and thought of them as her own.

Survivors include her parents James and Michele, grandmother Gloria Sanders, grandparents Sharon and Haynes Howle, brother Brandon and wife Jennifer, and Nephew Bannon Sanders, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandpa’s Billy Sanders and Walton Terry.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mitchell County Hospital.

James, Michelle and Brandon, I am so very sorry. Kayla will always be one of my favorite students. She brought joy every day; even when she sat in my lap on the steps at pep rallies to avoid Bruiser! Ms. Kayla was the sweetest to my Jude. He adores her. He talks about how Ms. Kayla is his favorite teacher. He loves her. She gives the best hugs. We are so thankful for the love she had for our 3 year old. Enjoy Heaven sweet girl!

I remember all the times she would come over for a sleep over with my sister. Especially the one time I had to get up early the next morning for a band event and all the girls were up giggling all night and it was about 12 or 2 am, I went in there and told them they all needed to go to bed. And ever since then I would see her afterwards she would tell me I am still mad at you for making us go to bed. You will be missed sweet girl and fly high. ❤️
