Kay Jean Slater Conry, 66 of Midland, passed away on August 24, 2023. A visitation will begin at 6:00pm on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. Services will be held at 10:00am Friday, September 1, 2023, at Sovereign Grace Church, 2901 W Kansas Ave, Midland, TX 79701.
Kay was born on July 11, 1957, in Midland, TX to William Parker Slater and Janet Dianne Hoffer Slater. She was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in the class of 1975 and later attended Midland College. She married the love of her life, Michael Edward Conry, of Midland on July 22, 1977. Kay and Mike raised two daughters together, Pamela Kay and Melissa Michelle. Kay had a servant’s heart and was deeply involved in volunteering at the schools that both of her girls attended and around her community. She was proud to have held recognition as Outstanding Adult Leader and Club manager in the Midland County 4-H organization. She loved to bake and cook, spend time with her husband, girls, and grand kids. She had a deep love for animals and cherished her many friends. Kay attended Sovereign Grace Church for more than 20 years and cultivated many meaningful relationships.
Kay is survived by her husband Michael Conry, daughter Pamela Thompson and husband Justin, daughter Melissa Roxburgh and husband Kevin, and most adored grandchildren Jazmyn and Bryson Black. Kay is also survived by her sisters Trisha Dixon and husband Billy Edd, Dianne Slater, Barbara Shirley and husband Tim, Elizabeth Larson and husband Robert, and their families. Her extended family is quite large and much loved.
Kay was preceded in her journey to heaven by her parents William Slater and Janet Slater.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the pastors and members of Sovereign Grace Church, the staff of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory, her physicians and medical staff through the years, and close friends.
