Kathy Sue Underwood

Kathy Sue Underwood peacefully passed away on December 23, 2023, at the age of 65.

Graveside services celebrating Kathy’s remarkable life will be held 10:00 am Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Gail Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, December 29, 2023 from 5pm until 7pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Big Spring.

Kathy was born May 13, 1958, in Roby, Texas to parents Patsy Ollen (Ware) and Raymond “Babe” Camel Underwood. Kathy lived a fulfilling life, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

She poured her blood, sweat and tears into 29 years at Borden County ISD. She loved her beloved dog Jazz and Boston terriers. She loved horses and animals all alike. Her favorite thing to do was working in the yard and her garden. Many times she was a second mom at the Borden County School as she would take care of the kids that adored her.

Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years David Goodman of Ackerly; sister Priss Zant of Gail, brother Ray Don and wife Jana Underwood of Gail, niece’s Patsy “Hopper” and husband Robby Kleck of Altus, Arkansas, Carrie Hart of Snyder, Raylea Underwood of Tomball and many great nephews and nieces. She is also survived by other countless friends and family.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents Patsy and Babe Underwood and her sister Connie Hart.
