Kathryn Martin, 91, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on February 9, 2009 at Midland Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 10, 2009 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, at East End Cemetery in Lingleville, Texas with Mike Vestal officiating. She was born on October 27, 1917 in Lingleville, Texas to Ed and Eula Mae Kirklin Wood. In May of 1963 she married Fines Clark Martin. He preceded her in death in November of 2002. Kathryn was a member of Westside Church of Christ. She had been a volunteer for the Senior Companion Program for many years. She loved quilting, sewing and her many caring friends at Hillcrest Manor. Most of all "Mammaw" loved her family. She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Schoolcraft of Midland and Tommie Bourland and husband Richard of Mansfield; grandchildren, Nancy Scritchfield, Danny Bourland, Robert Schoolcraft and Kelly Allred; great-grandchildren, Tyler Mills, Cody and Cole Bourland, McKenzie and Maggie Rae Allred, Payton and Taylor Schoolcraft. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Midland Senior Citizen Center, 3303 W. Illinois Ave. #18, Midland, Texas 79703. Kathryn was such a great friend to us. So sorry to hear of her passing. We did not read our paper that day, so we did not find out until later. Sorry we missed the visitation. She will be greatly missed.

Kathryn, she was quite a woman! I have her quilt on my bed now, a top she pieced with Irises and the ladies at Calvary quited for me as a gift. Each time I make the bed, I think of Kathryn and those ladies and the love covering me. Even though I now live far away from Midland, I'll miss Kathryn. Knowing that she is at home with her family and preparing the way, inspector 13 even in Heaven, gives me great pleasure!
