Karen Elaine Barragan, born on February 5th, 1962, in Belvedere, California, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 26th, 2024, in Midland, Texas. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and colleagues.
A viewing is scheduled to take place from 8:00am to 5:00pm on Monday, February 12th, 2024, at the Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home and Crematory located at 3800 North Big Spring St., Midland, TX 79705. Friends and loved ones are invited to pay their final respects during this time.
The memorial service honoring Karen’s life and legacy will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024, at Elevate Church. This service will be a celebration of her life, where those closest to her will gather to share memories and offer support.
Karen was a talented and dedicated individual throughout her life. She pursued her education diligently, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in the medical field. She then pursued a career as a cashier, working for HEB, where she provided outstanding service to her customers and created lasting connections with her coworkers.
Family was of paramount importance in Karen’s life. She is survived by her loving spouse, Jose Paredez, who stood by her side through thick and thin. Karen’s father, Charles Conover, and mother, Helen Boland, were sources of inspiration and guidance for her. Their memory will forever be cherished in her heart.
In addition to her immediate family, Karen leaves behind her brother, Gary Conover, and her children, Mike Conover and Sarah Barela. She loved them deeply and was immensely proud of their accomplishments.
Karen had a passion for art, finding solace in creating beautiful diamond art pieces. She also found comfort in watching soap operas and being near the ocean, where she felt a deep connection to nature. Music played an influential role in Karen’s life, particularly Christian music, which she listened to regularly, finding inspiration and spiritual strength.
Karen’s strong faith in Christ guided her through life’s trials and provided her with unwavering support. Her devotion to her faith extended beyond her personal life, as she even pursued ordination as a minister.
Karen was beloved by all and will be dearly missed.
