June Earlene Keesee Magee, 84, of Midland passed away on February 15, 2015. The family will be accepting guests at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at 11:00am. Memorial services will be held at First Baptist Church Worship Center on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 1:00pm with Pastor David Johnson officiating.June was born on June 14, 1930 in Austin, Texas to Luther and Nova Keesee. On September 30, 1949, June married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, G.A. Magee. She and G.A. had three children, Charlotte, Rodney, and Gaines. June was a pastor’s wife for 65 years and she was devoted to her husband’s ministry. She served alongside him in Lorraine, Texas, Happy Union, Texas, San Angelo, Texas, Eunice, New Mexico, Odessa, Texas, and Midland, Texas until his retirement at Bellview Baptist Church. Throughout the years, she worked at Amerada-Hess, Sivalls and ARCO. June was a loving woman who loved to laugh and could light up any room. She always cooked and baked from scratch and spoiled her children and grandchildren. When she was not at her grandchildren’s sporting events, she was watching sports on TV-especially her beloved Texas Longhorns. It is said that the only time she ever supported Texas Tech was when her grandchildren were students there, but she was always a Longhorn on the inside. Much of her time was spent assisting churches and doing mission work. She and G.A. spent 20 years organizing trips to Presidio for the River Ministry supplying food and Christmas presents to those in need. What started out in the bed of their truck soon grew into a sponsored ministry that required several trailers to carry all of the supplies and gifts to the families. June was an incredible role model to her children and everyone around her. On several occasions, when the grandchildren were misbehaving in church, June would reach behind them and pinch the back of their arms so they would behave! Her fun, loving, and caring ways will be missed and remembered fondly by all that knew her.She is survived by her husband, G.A. Magee; daughter, Charlotte Webb and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Wesley, Allison, and Derek; son, Rodney Magee and wife, Lee Ann; grandchildren, Keith and his wife, Alyson, and Natalie and her husband, Jason (great-grandchildren, Devin and Aubrey); Monica, and her husband, Jake (great-grandchildren, Dillon, Scarlett, and Sterling); Lindsay and her husband, Jonathan (great-grandchild, Reese); Chelsea and husband, Eric (great-grandchild, Cooper); and Brooke Harmon; son, Gaines Magee and his wife, Gigi; grandchildren, Patrick and Blair; brother, Everett Keesee; numerous nieces and nephews; and several friends from her years in the ministry.She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Nova Keesee, and a sister, Geneva Thigpen.The family would like to express their gratitude towards the staff and doctors at Midland Memorial Hospital and Home Hospice.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church Mission fund, 2104 W Louisiana, Midland, Texas 79701, Baptist Crisis Center, 806 South Baird Street, Midland, TX 79701 or to a charity of choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
