It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Judy Massingill, born on January 16, 1948, who departed this world peacefully on September 28, 2025. Judy was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
A proud graduate of Carver High School in Midland, Texas, Judy went on to pursue her passion for cosmetology, becoming a dedicated beautician for over 50 years. Her love for her craft was evident in the care she provided to her clients, particularly the ladies at Polo Park in Midland, who cherished the beauty and joy she brought to their lives. Judy was not only skilled with a pair of scissors but was also an excellent cook, creating countless treasured meals for her family. Her love for her family was unparalleled, and she was fiercely devoted to her children and grandchildren.
Judy is survived by her daughter, Kimberley Anders; her son, Luther Massingill, Jr.; her life partner, Carl Lewis; her sister, Gladys Edwards; her brother, Carl Durham; and her sister, Lillie Rose Durham. She also leaves behind five cherished grandchildren and many great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Julius and Lillie Durham, as well as her sisters, Linda Williams and Sharon Hill, and brother Julius Durham, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Monday, October 6th, 2025 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel. In this time of grief, we invite all who knew Judy to join us in remembering the love she gave and the lives she touched.
