Juanita Jones Harrington, 87, of Big Spring, Texas, died on Thursday, August 7, 2003, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2003 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, Big Spring, with Rev. Darrell Hendrickson, pastor of First Church of God, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of Betty Lou Farmer at 804 Edwards. She was born on June 23, 1916, in Howard County, Texas and married Relerce G. Jones on May 14, 1933 in Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1982. She then married George Harrington on September 27, 1987. Juanita was the daughter of Walter and Vina Mae Davis. She moved with her family to Abilene at the age of 4 and attended school there. After marrying she moved to Coahoma and lived there several years before moving to Big Spring. She had worked as a receptionist at Hall-Bennett Clinic for 30 years before retiring. She joined the First Baptist Church in March 1946 and was a member there until marrying George at which time she moved her membership to First Church of God. Survivors include her husband, George Harrington of Big Spring; two daughters and their husbands, Betty Lou and Sherrill Farmer of Big Spring, and Nita Jean and Robert Clyde of Dallas; four grandchildren, Dennis Dodds of Greenville, Don Knight of Houston, Kerry Martin of Denton, and Cindy Read of Lubbock; and seven great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, 3205 W. Cuthbert, Suite A-8, Midland, Texas 79701. The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
