"Jr." Herman A. Lander, 69, of Stanton, died on Friday, May 1, 2009, in a Midland hospital. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 4, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Daniel Armstrong, pastor, and Van Pendergrass, officiating. He was born on April 26, 1940, in Coryell County, Texas and married Mickey Pinkerton on December 31, 1964 in Big Spring, Texas.Jr. was a lifelong resident of Martin County. He worked for Reagent Chemical Company as a truck driver for 29 years, retiring in 2006. He loved stock car racing, fishing and camping. He was a member of First United Methodist Church Survivors include his wife, Mickey Lander; his beloved dog "Boots"; one son & daughter-in-law, Shandal and Santa Lander; one daughter & son-in-law, Kresi JaNa and Bobby Roe all of Stanton; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Faye Wagner of Midland and Josie and Ronnie Deatherage of Tarzan; 11 grandchildren, Zackery Pylant and wife, Karyn, Gentry Pylant and wife, Perla, Landery Roe, Ashley Novak and husband, Bryan, Nicholas Teel, Amber Lander, April Lander and fiance, Riley Dunham, Rebecca Lopez and husband, Ismael, Isi Olivares, Rosalie Magallanes and husband, Manuel and Crystal Young and husband, Luke; 12 great grandchildren, Kanyon and Koda Pylant, Morgan and Madison Novak, Caiden Simpson, Desiree and Destiny Lopez, David and Nadi Olivares, Adrian and Tristin Young and Natalie Magallanes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Alma Lander. In 1969 Jr. experienced kidney failure and was on home dialysis for 11 years. In 1980 he had a kidney transplant and was a 29 year transplant survivor. The family suggests memorials to the Texas Kidney Foundation, 1525 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas 75235.
