Joyce Jones Lambert, 88 of Midland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. A visitation will begin at 4:00pm on Sunday, May 24th at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory. Services will be 10:00am on Tuesday, May 26th at Bellview Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Joyce was born on January 24, 1938 in Santa Anna, Texas to Elijah and Janie Jones. She was raised on a dairy farm in San Angelo, Texas, where she spent her childhood taking naps on hay bales and even sneaking a lick from the cows’ salt block every now and then — stories that always brought laughter to those around her. She later met the love of her life, Jack, and together they built a life centered around faith, family, music, and friendship. They loved gathering with friends and family for card games while Jack filled the room with music.
Throughout her life, she worked as a realtor and banker, but her favorite role was being “Nana.” She faithfully cared for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, loving each one deeply and making them feel safe, cherished, and known. She found joy in working in her yard, spending time with family, and serving others with a generous heart.
More than anything, she loved Jesus with her whole heart. Sharing the love of Christ and making sure others knew Him was what she considered her most important purpose in life.
Joyce is survived by her children, Pam and husband Rudy Gomez, Julie and husband Mark Jolly, Jeff Lambert and wife Ellen; her grandchildren Jason Brooks and wife Jennifer, Cody Lambert and wife Cristy, Misty Brooks, Joshua Lambert, Lacey Brooks, Cassie Gilbert and husband Tyler, Emily Chapman and husband Dillon, Matthew Jolly, Sarah Tabish and husband Andrew, and Jacob Lambert and wife Kailey; her 18 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and one on the way.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, Elijah and Janie Jones; her husband, Jack Lambert; and two sons, Guy and Mickey Lambert; and her siblings, J. E. Jones, Inez Jones, Nelda Jones Ford, and Doris Jones Pinard.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has prayed for Joyce over the years and especially during this difficult time. Your love, support, phone calls, visits, flowers, meals, and kind words have brought great comfort to our family. We are deeply thankful for every act of kindness shown to Nana and to those who loved her so dearly.
Most of all, thank you for celebrating a life so beautifully lived and so firmly rooted in faith, family, and love.
