Joyce Ann \Joy\ Minter Doyle, 68 of Midland left earth for her heavenly home on December 29, 2015.Joy was born on February 25, 1947 in Lamesa, Texas to J.W. and Rebecca Jane Minter. Throughout her younger years she moved with her family to O’Donnell, Seagraves, and Hobbs. She graduated from Hobbs High School in 1965. Following graduation, Joy moved to Midland to attend business school. After completing business school, Joy met the love of her life and her soul mate, Jerry. The couple fell deeply in love and then married March 11, 1967. They had two daughters, Donna Joyce and Deborah Ann, both having Joy’s namesake. Joy and Jerry shared 48 wonderful years together until Jerry's passing on October 27th, 2015.Joy was a survivor whom at the age of 29 was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer and was told she only had a few years. Jerry packed his “Doll” up and took her to M.D. Anderson in Houston to seek treatment. She not only survived but lived 39 more years! She later said that she wanted to be there for her girls as they grew up and she was not going to let anything stop her from that goal.Joy worked 36 years for the City of Midland Parks and Recreation/ Community Services. After her retirement, she and Jerry worked for Enterprise Rental as drivers. Joy enjoyed sewing and putting her heart into creating customized gifts for her loved ones. Joy loved volunteering her time at Crestview Baptist Church as a member of the hostess committee, whenever she was called upon. She had a sweet spirit and a kind heart, always with a smile on her face. Those closest to her knew that she was always there to lend a helping hand, offering a shoulder to cry on, was not afraid to speak her mind and always gave great advice.Joy is survived by daughters, Donna Joyce Doyle of Midland and Deborah Ann Doyle of Plano; adopted grandsons Nicholas Doyle-Diaz and Elijah Doyle-Diaz; Brother J.W. Minter (Loretta); Brother in-law Robert Doyle, Brother in-law Bob Thurman; numerous nieces and nephews, Max (best friend with four legs), special family friends Michael and Shari Santorelli, Rachel Santorelli, Mikey Santorelli, Jessica, Emmalyn and Waylon Massey and a host of friends and church family.Joy is preceded in death by her husband Clyde \Jerry\ Doyle; parents J.W. Minter and Rebecca Jane Minter, brother Roy Minter, sister-in-law Jo Ann Minter, grandparents Roy and Addie Self, sisters- in-law, Billie Doyle and Bertha Thurman.Visitation will be on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park at 11:00am, Saturday, January 2, 2016, with memorial services to follow at Crestview Baptist Church at 12:30pm.The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Dr. Michael Miller and the ICU staff at Midland Memorial Hospital.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crestview Baptist Church “Forward By Faith” or Midland Memorial Foundation \Janet's Closet\.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
