Joshua ”Josh” Paul McCracken, 25, of Big Spring, TX passed away on December 21st, 2022. The family will receive guests from 7:00 pm-9:00 pm on Wednesday, December 28th, 2022 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland, TX. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29th, 2022 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland, TX.
Josh was born on July 30, 1997 in Talihina, Oklahoma to Johnny and Tricia McCracken. Josh graduated Antlers High School in Antlers, OK in 2016 where he enjoyed playing football. Josh graduated from Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology in 2019 with a degree in Natural Gas Compression. Josh married Sydney in 2020 and became a devoted, loving husband and then loving father of Emery. Josh was excited to learn the family was growing again and they are having a boy. Josh loved being a Daddy. He enjoyed playing with and taking care of Emery. He loved to cook and was very good at it. He loved to mechanic and fix things, but got excited about putting together Emery’s toys and things. Josh liked to fish, and joke around and drink beer with his friends around a fire when he was not in the oil fields working full throttle at a job that he truly enjoyed. Josh was an exceptional person.
Josh is survived by his wife Sydney Dunham, daughter Emery McCracken and yet to be born baby boy, parents Johnny and Tricia McCracken, and was the baby of eight siblings.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards Officers Stanton and Toumey, Texas State Troopers, the EMS crew and Midland Memorial Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to his wife Sydney Dunham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Yeager, Billy Kinsey, Matt Horsley, Amos Crader, Johnny “Bubba” McCracken, and Christopher Ellington.
